Beaconsfield is a space for contemporary art based in the former Lambeth Ragged School.
Research activity is rooted in a long history of collaboration with individual artists and other national and international art institutions. Beaconsfield is conceived as a concept rather than a place and offers a programme of artists residencies and exhibitions, talks and interdisciplinary events curated by founding-directors David Crawforth and Naomi Siderfin who work closely with incoming artists to realise their creative objectives.
This unique historic environment consists of a large Upper gallery, a Lower gallery with public facilities, including a vegetarian café, the Ragged Canteen, and the Arch gallery, an adjacent project space. The organisation has an established presence in the Vauxhall Gallery district, with community schools and higher education institutions across the UK.
BGV’s Lower gallery and Arch gallery spaces are fully accessible but we regret that there is no wheelchair access to our Upper gallery space. Please call in advance for a parking space or with any queries regarding access requirements.
