MMX Gallery was founded in a former photography studio in London in 2014 by Mark and Magdalena Shackleton. The gallery uses photography as a catalyst to exhibit new and established photographers and photographic artists.
Encouraging freedom of expression and pushing boundaries within the ever-changing face of contemporary photographic practice, enables the gallery to show innovative works and ideas within its diverse programme of exhibitions.
Its seemingly endless possibilities is what fuels their passion for photography.
As well as discovering new artists and nurturing their ways of seeing, MMX Gallery also unearths previously hidden archives to realise the continuing magnetism of vintage prints.
Ranging from the abstract to the documentary, the image is everything and is celebrated by the gallery with conviction and belief that what is seen is to be treasured, creating and harbouring that first emotional response to images is the backbone that drives the gallery.
Their exhibitions were featured in the Guardian, Financial Times, the British Journal of Photography, Black and White Photography Magazine, L'oeil de la Photographie and more.
The gallery has ventured into Photography art fairs with Photo London since 2017 and has recently participated in 2021 fair edition.
MMX Gallery's represented artists work has been acquired by numerous international private collections and institutions.
Housed in a Victorian building, the gallery characterful interior provides an intimate and relaxed viewing experience.
