How has social media shaped our collective perception of the female nude and what effect has this shift had on our mental health and personal body image? These are some of the themes that sculptor Sam Dawood interrogates through her practice using playful clay objects to create a safe and accessible space for dialogue and debate.
During this one hour discussion led by Dawood and the NOW Gallery curatorial team attendees will be encouraged to participate in a conversation exploring the dichotomy of shame and sexualisation, censorship and celebration all in relation to nudity with a focus on women’s health. A series of small sculptures created by Dawood specifically for the event will be informed by individuals' personal experiences and act as provocations for the conversation.
