National Opera Complex: Neighbourhood Breakfast & Exhibition Tour
19 Feb 2025 8.30-10pm

Join us for coffee, tea and pastries from 8:30am, followed by a tour of Tanat Teeradakorn’s exhibition National Opera Complex at 9:30am with Gasworks’ curator Rosa Tyhurst.
National Opera Complex explores the parallel histories of Thailand the UK through reference to pop culture, revolution and the monarchy. Through installation, sound, and video the exhibition draws inspiration from a series of protest and activist songs pivotal to Thailand’s history of resistance. It offers a hybridised version of the country, one that might be more representative of their diverse and complex histories and ideologies.
This project is supported by the British Council’s Connections Through Culture Programme.
The tour will take place in the gallery, temporary seating provided on request.
This event is free to attend, but booking is recommended via Eventbrite.
