Overview

The 2023 Research Festival takes place at A.P.T. Gallery in Deptford from 16 - 19 November: showcasing a display of student-authored zines, artist books, essays and podcasts, with a daily public programme of talks, workshops, screenings, and performances. Featuring guest artists and graduating students from MA Fine Art: Computational Arts, MA Fine Art: Drawing, MA Fine Art: Printmaking, MA Fine Art: Photography and MA Fine Art: Sculpture courses.

This years’ theme, Making Conversation, explores questions around contemporary art practice and creative research, such as:

What can artists contribute to critical conversations about the forces shaping society and culture both locally and globally—from resonant histories and emerging technologies, to climate crisis, labour conditions and mental health?

What might it mean to think of conversation as another material of art practice—something to be crafted and curated?

How does art make conversation with audiences and communities within and beyond the gallery?
