KERNEL: Raw Rate Raw Rate is a video produced as part of an ongoing research, compiled of data coming from the web server hosted in KERNEL’s installation Mirrors, currently on view at V22 Young London. Looking at concepts of immaterial networks and material flows, patterns of time and structure, the video unfolds as a synthesis between factual information and narrative. Hans Diernberger: N Like Nancy Produced during a residency in Los Angeles in Spring 2012 and taking the form of a vox pop, N like Nancy invites a cross section of Los Angelenos (people living in Los Angeles) to take part in a playful exercise. In doing so, they unwittingly describe the various facets of the city, from the posh film festivals of Beverley Hills to the underbelly of Downtown LA. A social study and spontaneous collaboration with strangers, N like Nancy recreates the vibrant and freewheeling attitude of the city through its inhabitants.
