Overview

The first solo exhibition in London and a major new commission by London-based artist Evan Ifekoya,whose recent works in film, performance and sound explore intimate and co-authored forms of knowledge production and the radical potential of spectacle. Ifekoya’s ongoing project A Score, A Groove, A Phantom (2015-) explores archives of blackness, sociality and inheritance as they diffract through queer nightlife and trauma. Drawing from their current research around Buddhist practice, speculative fiction and the echo as affective encounter, Ifekoya’s Gasworks commission will focus on polyvocality and the sculptural potential of sound.
