Artist talk with Mohammed Z. Rahman

Join artist Mohammed Z. Rahman and Hannah Marsh, Assistant Curator, Contemporary British Art, Tate Britain, discussing Rahman’s new commission, artistic process and wider practice.
About the speakers:
Hannah Marsh (Oxford, 1996) is an Assistant Curator of Contemporary British Art at Tate, focussing on exhibitions, collection displays and acquisitions. She is currently working on Ed Atkin’s forthcoming major solo exhibition and recently worked on Alvaro Barrington’s Duveens commission, and will curate Onyeka Igwe’s Art Now exhibition, opening in September. She has also worked on other shows at Tate, such as: Women in Revolt! Hew Lock’s Duveens commission, and Shawanda Corbett’s Art Now. Her curatorial practice explores the experience of migration, British identity, and feminist histories, with an ongoing commitment to expanding discourse in contemporary art. She holds a BA in Fine Art and History of Art from the University of Leeds, and an MA in Art, Philosophy and Cultural Institutions from the University of Liverpool. Hannah is also the editor of Ajamu X’s Tate photography book due to be published this year.
Mohammed Z. Rahman (b.1997, lives and works in London). Solo exhibitions include, A Flame is a Petal (2024) and City of Burrows (2023), both Phillida Reid. He has previously worked on projects with institutions including the Whitechapel Gallery; Brent Biennial; Metroland Cultures; Goethe-Institut; UCL Culture; Tate Modern; the Smithsonian Institution, Washington DC; and V&A East. Rahman has also worked with grassroots arts organisations, including Oitij-jo, gal-dem, Writing Our Legacy, Skin Deep Magazine, Wasafiri Magazine, Aire Place Studios and The Willowherb Review. Rahman is an awardee of the Frieze Tate Fund 2024.
