Overview
Evren Tekinoktay's work originates in collage. She uses found imagery and familiar visual tropes to explore the body and desire as a currency that can be consumed, reproduced and exchanged in the form of images.
For her forthcoming solo exhibition, Tekinoktay will produce a series of new neon and fabric sculptures that embody the retro sensibility of feminine craft, the domestic or decorative, blended with a feminist conceptual undertone. Her work moves between the erotic and cartoonish, the folksy and glam.
Evren Tekinoktay (b. 1972, Copenhagen, Denmark) lives and works in Copenhagen.
