Evren Tekinoktay

Evren Tekinoktay´s work originates in collage. She uses found imagery and familiar visual tropes to explore the body and desire as a currency that can be consumed, reproduced and exchanged in the form of images. She works across a variety of media, including kinetic and neon sculptures, low-tech video animations, and quilted mirrors, all of which embody the retro sensibility of feminine craft, the domestic or decorative, blended with a feminist conceptual undertone. Her paper collages and paintings range from erotic to cartoonish, folksy and glam.
