Join us for an exclusive Members screening of Philip Guston: A Life Lived with an introduction from a curator of the Philip Guston exhibition.
In Philip Guston: A Life Lived, the artist reflects on his career, from his earliest work to his time as an abstract expressionist and culminating in the late figurative works. Filmed at his Woodstock studio and at his retrospective in San Francisco in 1980 just weeks before he passed away, the artist speaks candidly about his philosophy of painting and the psychological motivation for his work.
Philip Guston: A Life Lived is directed by Michael Blackwood (New York: Michael Blackwood Productions,1981).
Following the screening the exhibition will be open until 21.30.
