Overview

Herald St is pleased to announce a solo exhibition by Cary Kwok, taking place in its Museum St premises. The show will feature a suite of acrylic and ink paintings, encased in artist’s frames. Kwok’s new body of work departs from the humour and homoerotic scenes of his earlier drawings, presenting instead quiet moments suffused with tenderness. Still lifes of cigarettes and toothbrushes, portraits of gazing men, and vistas of rolling gradiant skies are each allotted the same level of attention and presence. Vibrant and gently glowing, these warm vignettes are loaded with memories both intimate and poignant.
