How do we remember history, places and people? How does this impact how we see ourselves? Responding to Ravelle Pillay's new Chisenhale exhibition Idyll, poet and educator Manjot Dhaliwal leads an all-ages poetry and printmaking workshop in the gallery, inviting you to reflect on your own personal and familial stories through art.
The workshop will explore the expression of identity, history and migration in South Asian women's poetry, using this as starting point to write your own poetry and create poetry-based prints. You are welcome to bring in a photograph or item from your family history to share and to use a writing/printing prompt.
This event is taking place in the gallery. We are committed to ensuring our events are accessible for all. Please contact [email protected] to discuss any access needs. We will endeavour to meet all requests with reasonable notice.
