Join artist Paul Winstanley at Cristea Roberts Gallery to hear him talk about his practice and new work.
Three new prints by Paul Winstanley take as their subject a modernist stained-glass window inside St. Nicholas’ Church in Hamburg. Once the tallest building in the world, the Lutheran church was almost completely destroyed during the Second World War and rebuilt in a style that has become a symbol of renewal and renovation.
Winstanley works within the traditional genres of landscape, interior, still life and the figure to create detailed, realistic paintings and prints of uninhabited landscapes, deserted passages, lobbies, walkways and interiors, all rendered in a muted palette.
