Overview

'Wunderkammer' - a 'wonder room', 'cabinet of wonders', 'a cabinet of curiosities'. With its origins in the renaissance period the wunderkammer appeared as a room that housed objects of fascination and curiosity that were yet to be categorised. Hoxton Art Gallery have commissioned a group of their artists, each of whom explore the notions of the theatrical and the exotic in their practice, to make a series of works in miniature and the gallery itself will be turned into a ‘cabinet of wonder’ for the duration of the show.
