Overview
Following her success of winning the "People's Choice Award" in The Hackney Wood Art Prize (2010), designer/maker Donna Walker launches her most recent collection of furniture and lighting in a fine art gallery context. Questioning the mass-produced, as well as the value and memories that can be imbedded in our possessions, aMEND concentrates on the existing beauty, form, and craftsmanship in old and discarded pieces of furniture. These once redundant pieces are lovingly transformed in what can only be described as a colourful blend of decades. The exhibition is featured at The Residence Gallery as part of The London Design Festival.
