Maxim Zhestkov

b. 1985, Russia

Maxim Zhestkov (b.1985) is a digital artist based in London. Combining his appreciation for sculpture and architecture with his interest in physics and computer science he creates complex ‘motion sculptures’ that dramatise the intersection between the digital and the physical.

After studying architecture and graphic design at The Ulyanovsk State University, Zhestkov founded two studios: Zhestkov.Studio and Media.Work. While the first is dedicated to his experimental art practice, the second envisions his creative practice in the commercial context, collaborating with many influential brands like Google, Microsoft, Sony, BMW, Nike, IKEA, Chanel, and Volvo to name a few.

Zhestkov has won numerous accolades, including the Red Dot Award, D&AD, iF Design Award and the ADC Award and his works have been exhibited in dozens of public art spaces, galleries and festivals across the globe, including the Decentral Art Pavilion Venice (2022), Contemporary Istanbul (2021), MIT (2019), ArtBasel Miami (2019), and Ars Electronica (2018).

In 2022, his artwork Points of View was sold at Christie’s auction and his works have been acquired by famous connoisseurs of digital art such as 33NFT and Ryan Zurrer.
