Sep 27 - Nov 2, 2019
Adam Gordon, Alan Miller, Andrew Stahl, Clementine Bruno, Derek Jarman, Jennifer Packer, Marley Freeman, Sean Steadman, Sebastian Jefford, Stanislava Kovalcikova, Tenant of Culture and Vincent Fecteau.

'GUBBINAL' considers two opposing stances. The cosmic, foundational and mysterious at loggerheads with lassitude and retreat. Wallace Stevens, who favours a Heraclitus-type balance in his work, is drawing out the playing field produced by the imagination’s friction with abnegation.

THAT'S WHY WE WORK
Apr 25 - Jun 7, 2020 FINAL WEEK
In light of our current “working from home” (WFH) culture, the demands of working life on all elements of waking life, from leisure to the home, has arguably reached its apex. Technology, which is meant to “make life better” and herald a new age of freedom and self-determination, has resulted in increased time dedicated to work (i.e. catching up) and self-surveillance, in the form of social media updates, texts, emails, blog posts, multi-tasking regimes, and the like. This condition is characterized by the obligation to always be “on,” an unsurprising after effect of post-Fordist labor, incorporating ever more spheres of life into its networks of surplus value generation. Spare time has been transformed into monetized time.
