Join us for an immersive Slow Looking Workshop exploring Alison Watt: From Light at Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery. Led by Dr. Aleksandra Igdalova, an expert in the psychology of art perception, this unique event invites you to slow down, observe, and engage deeply with Watt’s evocative paintings.
Combining art, science, and well-being, this session will reveal how careful observation can transform our understanding of an artwork, enhance mindfulness, and enrich our connection to creativity. The event unfolds across two spaces—the contemporary gallery and the historic Sir John Soane-designed manor—offering a rare opportunity to experience Watt’s work in different lighting and settings.

About Dr. Aleksandra Igdalova
Dr. Aleksandra (Sasha) Igdalova studies how different ways of looking at art influence our experience and what can be done to make that engagement more meaningful and beneficial. She collaborates with museums and galleries to investigate how practices like slow looking, mindfulness, and guided discussion affect perception, well-being, and aesthetic appreciation. Sasha completed her PhD in Psychology at Goldsmiths, University of London, where she conducted large-scale experimental studies on art engagement in real-world settings. An advocate for closer interdisciplinary collaboration between the arts and sciences, she leads workshops on slow looking, co-production practices, and knowledge exchange between researchers and art professionals.
