Cynthia Corbett Gallery at COLLECT 2025
Stand W19, in the West Wing of Somerset House, London, WC2R 1LA

Known for championing innovative and boundary-pushing artists, the gallery will present an extraordinary curation of works at Collect 2025, highlighting intricate narratives while celebrating materiality and cultural heritage. Among the highlights is the debut of Matt Smith’s poignant project, The Sad and Melancholy Tale of Gustavus Guydickens 1730–1802, which draws from his acclaimed exhibition Untold Lives at Kensington Palace. Through a series of evocative plates, Smith delves into the untold story of Gustavus Guydickens, a Gentleman Usher in Queen Charlotte’s court, exploring themes of historical marginalization and personal resilience. Cynthia Corbett Gallery will also present the groundbreaking works of Young Masters Art Prize artists including Jemma Gowland, Emilie Taylor, SaeRi Seo and Carolyn Tripp. Additionally, the gallery will be showcasing a new series by 2023 Highly Commended Maylis Grand Ceramics Prize artist Ebony Russell. The series reimagines the iconic Portland Vase through a contemporary lens, showcasing her technical mastery and imaginative approach. Together, these artists and others exemplify the gallery’s dedication to celebrating diversity and pushing the boundaries of contemporary craft.
