You will be composing a still life with vase, fabric, and flowers. You will be learning the sight-size method of drawing with pencil and paper, and will make a small painting using a limited palette of colours and colour theory to help you bring harmony to your work.
Aster Guinness is an artist and teacher from Penzance, who uses traditional methods of drawing, painting, and colour theory to paint still lifes, portraits, interiors, and landscapes. Her work is often of everyday scenes yet have a feeling of intensity and an energy that comes from close attention. Aster’s paintings contain a visual tension and a drama that come from the different areas of colour meeting, colliding and harmonising. She recently exhibited in The Picture Room at Newlyn Art Gallery.
All workshop materials will be provided.
