Discover a new immersive installation and audio work by artist, composer, and DJ, Ain Bailey.
FOUR (2024) explores the concept of ‘sonic autobiographies’ through collaboration with imprisoned men and their families at HMP Buckley Hall in Rochdale. Ain hosted workshops with the participants, during which they listened to music and sounds that were significant to them, sharing their connected memories.
The new audio work includes some of the sounds and rhythms recorded by the participants, and is presented in the gallery which Ain has redesigned in response to the time she spent in the visitor centre at HMP Buckley Hall.
This artwork is an outcome of our multi-year project, Resolution, which aims to explore how art can affect public attitudes and influence decision-making in the justice system.
