Overview

Join us to celebrate the launch of Sukoon, a brand new zine, and its companion exhibition.

Created by artist and filmmaker Bediah and writer Rawiyah Ahmed.

Come along on Saturday the 3rd of February from 6-9pm for the launch and opening-event. Book your free ticket here.

About the Zine
The intention behind Sukoon is to bring together the voices of people from different walks of life. The project explores the theme of Home and how we can build one in the place we reside.

“Moving beyond traditional interviews, we sought to explore the different ways these voices found their home. Using themes of home, diaspora and displacement, but also friendship, sisterhood, religion, souls and the self, the exhibition will guide you through a sequence of different discoveries of what Home could possibly mean and if there ever really is an answer to understanding it.”
Sukoon is: Diaspora people interviewing diaspora people.

Featuring works by André Anderson, Mellozwrld, Hanifah Sogbanmu, Heiba Lamara and Sondliwe.

The Exhibition
To accompany the launch of the Sukoon zine, Bediah and Rawiyah have curated an exhibition of visual works. This exhibition exists as a companion to and extension of the zine itself, creating a physical holding-space for theses themes and intentions.

The exhibition will open 6-9pm Saturday 3rd February and will be open to the public from 10am-5pm Sunday 4th February.
