Rebecca Salter PRA is an outstanding British artist who, in 2019, was elected as the first female President of the Royal Academy in London. She is also, by association, President of Gainsborough’s House.
This thought-provoking and stimulating exhibition of Rebecca’s recent work demonstrates how her artistic practice has been deeply rooted in traditional Japanese art, how it combines Eastern and Western traditions, and how print processes are central to the conception and execution of her work.
The principal exhibition is accompanied by a fascinating juxtaposition of works specially selected by the artist to hang alongside appropriate Gainsborough artworks from the museum’s own collection.
