See a large-scale collage on part of our building’s magnificent 140m curved wall, created by artist Michael Landy.

‘The Essex Way’ is inspired by walks Michael has taken throughout the Essex, with Southend-based artist and activist Elsa James, writer and broadcaster Gillian Darley, and Professor Pam Cox, Head of the Department of Sociology, University of Essex. Find out more about the walks here.

The collage is an ongoing artwork which began as part of our exhibition, ‘Michael Landy’s Welcome to Essex’, earlier this year – which invited visitors to explore, celebrate and question the recent history of Essex and its contemporary portrayal in popular culture. Find out more
