Zabludowicz Collection is delighted to host the Procreate Project Mother Art Prize. For its 4th edition, this open call group exhibition features 21 artists selected from 630 entries from 36 countries.
The Mother Art Prize aims to promote and support artists who are mothers/parents, as well as to drive the attention of the wider public to a broad-spectrum of themes that may otherwise be overlooked and devalued. Mother Art Prize embraces the risk necessary to achieve a sea-change in the perception and normalisation of women and carers’ artistic output as part of the cultural landscape. Procreate Project was founded in 2013 and has grown to become a pioneering arts organisation driven by an ethos that strives for innovation and sociocultural impact, aiming to support the professional development of contemporary artists who are also (m)others, working across multiple disciplines.
The judges were: Dr. Charlotte Bonham-Carter (Independent curator and writer, and Head of International Partnerships, CCW), Niamh Coghlan (Director of Richard Saltoun Gallery), Pauline de Souza (Director of the Diversity Art Forum), Caroline Douglas (Director at the Contemporary Art Society), Touria El Glaoui (Director of 1-54 art fair).
