Explore the lesser-known relationship between queer image-making and the post-war development of men’s fashion in A Hard Man is Good to Find! Centring on queer photographs of men’s bodies produced in London between the 1920s and early 1990s, the exhibition focuses on material from areas of London where men photographed other men – from Highgate Ponds and Chelsea Barracks to Soho, Brixton and Euston. Many of these photographs were taken and shared at a time when making or distributing images of homoerotic male nudity was a criminal offence. Curated by Alistair O’Neill.
