To mark the final week of Hajar Benjida's solo exhibition please join us for a conversation between Hajar and Fiona Rogers, founder of Firecracker and curator of the V&A's Parasol Foundation Women in Photography Project. They will be discussing Hajar's work Atlanta Made Us Famous as winner of this year's British Journal of Photography International Photography Award. 

Hajar is currently based in New York so the conversation will be on Zoom, with Fiona speaking to her in front of her exhibition at TJ Boulting.

Atlanta Made Us Famous highlights the women that play an important role in Atlanta's hip-hop scene, the influential dancers at the legendary club Magic City. Ongoing since 2018, the series comprises portraits of dancers, mothers, wives, breadwinners, all posing as any famous musician might, offering a highly emotive mix of fierce confidence and palpable vulnerability. Distinctly separate from Magic City's prevailing male gaze, Benjida presents a powerful insight into the dancers' respective worlds, celebrating them as the stars of the city.
