Overview

Richard Saltoun Gallery is delighted to present Enactment, a solo exhibition of queer visual artist and choreographer Florence Peake, known for her sensual performances and gestural paintings and sculptures that use the physicality of the body. Building on the artist’s performance at the National Gallery in 2021, the exhibition includes new canvases, sculptures, and works on paper that continue Peake’s research into the possibilities of painting after the collapse of the Western painting canon and the time-based nature of performance art.

Enactment complements her major new commission and exhibition at Southwark Park Galleries, Factual Actual:Ensemble, opening in April 2023 and touring to Towner, Eastbourne, and Fruitmarket, Edinburgh.
