From the 2nd to 5th of November, Bernard Jacobson Gallery will host an immersive experience of the day-to-day life and work of One to One Children’s Fund's Mentor Mothers.
The exhibition will journey deep into the heart of the rural Eastern Cape community of OR Tambo in South Africa. Through the lens of acclaimed South African Magnum photographer, Lindokuhle Sobekwa, visitors will experience the world of One to One Mentor Mothers, who provide critical healthcare advice and service to mothers and children infected and/or affected by HIV. Many of One to One's Mentor Mothers are themselves mothers living with HIV.
Lindokuhle was commissioned by One to One to document the lives and work of these unique women. Their intervention has improved the maternal health and development outcomes of thousands of women and children.
