3 Feb 2022 6-9pm

Nunnery Gallery
London E3 2SJ

Overview

Hear from some of the brightest writers and performers in the contemporary British Bangladeshi poetry scene in this reading and discussion of poets included in the anthology British Bangladeshi Poetry (ed. Shamim Azad & Stephen Watts). Featuring readings from Shamim Azad, Milton Rahman, Farah Naz, Ataur Rahman Milad, and Ikbal Hussein Bulbul.

British Bangladeshi Poetry is an anthology that brings together the work of 14 British-Bangladeshi poets, covering themes including solidarity, nostalgia, and what it actually means to be British Bangladeshi in the UK today.

This is also a chance to view Explosion of Words after hours as part of Whitechapel Gallery’s First Thursdays, with the Nunnery Café serving drinks and snacks throughout the evening.
