Elizabeth Xi Bauer is thrilled to showcase the third of its tri-series of exhibitions, The Cholmondeley Ladies. The exhibition borrows its title from one of Britain’s most famous paintings – although its author remains a mystery – which belongs to the Tate Collection. The painting depicts two nearly-identical twins holding equally-alike babies. This notion of repetition acts as a guiding principle to the show, which gathers the works of Cătălin Marius Petrișor Hereșanu with guest artists Karoliina Hellberg and Caragh Thuring who work predominantly with figurative painting. The exhibition is curated again by Maria do Carmo M. P. de Pontes.
