Overview

Shake it Loose and Let it Fall is a set for voice and loop machine adapted in response to Tom and Arthur’s SOFT ROC environment. The performance takes its title from a pop song by Kris Kristofferson, 1969. Like the line ‘Take the ribbon from my hair’ the performance is about cultural constructions of intimacy and the unraveling of affective expectations. The songs in this set share intuitive strategies of splitting, overlap and the isolation and repetition of vocal and physical gesture.
