Their work is underpinned by the universal importance and immediacy of the human figure: we recognise faces, connect to colour, like making handprints. The selection focuses on powerful and coherent work, where there is real engagement with the materials. Where involvement with the pigment coexists with thought-provoking subjects making both mutually enriching and the result hugely evocative.
