Leeds Art Gallery reopens its galleries on 13 October 2017 after a period of closure to undergo essential repairs to the historic Victorian building. Reopening programme highlights include the ARTIST ROOMS Joseph Beuys exhibition featuring important sculptures and works on paper by this influential German artist drawn from the ARTIST ROOMS collection; a major commission by Lothar Götz and exhibitions that look back over 130 years to showcase highlights from the nationally designated collection and include new acquisitions by leading contemporary artists such as young American artist Martine Syms and renowned British artists Hilary Lloyd and Alison Wilding RA.
