Cube Gallery is pleased to present Lineage, a group exhibition featuring the work of Kate, Mirren and Paul Kessling. On view will be a selection of paintings from each of these artists. The Kessling's are a family of artists who work in distinct styles and mediums. The exhibition demonstrates a unifying precipitation - that of line. The question arises: is this preoccupation heredity; are all artists drawn to this line? Kate's work gives patterns of order to readymade and disorders objects, Paul's records gesture in oil paint, each brush stroke resolving into a sinuous line of dripped paint, Mirren engrosses herself in the detail of intense line drawing, seeking to create the perfect hand drawn line.
