Overview

For the 2014 edition of Frieze Masters, London, curator Adriano Pedrosa has chosen British feminist artist Jo Spence to be represented in the Spotlight section dedicated to solo presentations. Presentation curated by Karsten Schubert. Richard Saltoun Gallery will present a comprehensive exhibition of Jo Spence’s seminal photographic works from the 1970s up until 1990. Through her photographic work, Spence radically effected issues of class, power and gender, and poignantly, of health and death. A carefully curated presentation of her leading works from the 1980s will be exhibited: Remodelling Photo History series, The Picture of Health?, Photo Therapy, Libido Uprising and The Narratives of Dis-Ease.
