Overview
Richard Saltoun Gallery is pleased to announce a solo show encompassing the career and unorthodox life of French Surrealist artist Pierre Molinier (b. 1900, Agen - 1976, Bordeaux), presenting a selection of more than 50 works, from the ‘50s until his death. Molinier produced paintings as well as hundreds of photographs and montages, mainly representing erotic situations with a fetishistic taste. His works have been inspirational for the generations of performance and body artists that followed (such as Robert Mapplethorpe and Cindy Sherman).
