Overview
This third solo show in London for the Iranian artist Parastou Forouhar is an exciting departure in her style: reworking the religious textile banners draped throughout Iran on holy days, Parastou teases and subverts social convention by applying the lyrics from a famous love song to the banners in kitsch embroidery embellished with feathers, sequins and appliqued flowers.
