Floating And Waterlogged Objects
19 Feb-20 Mar 2011

Justin Brown, Richard Clements, Eoin Donnelly, Tomas Downes, Esmeralda Valencia Lindström. Bruno Latour describes the world as "a vast ocean of uncertainty, speckled with a few islands of calibrated and stabilized forms". Floating and waterlogged describes a way in which art objects can be simultaneously buoyant within and saturated by this fluid of uncertainty. This exhibition does not claim a common thesis in the assembled works but proposes the metaphysical waters as a shared environment in which differing approaches could be experienced in terms of density, porosity and saturation.
