Blain|Southern announces a major solo exhibition of new work by acclaimed New York based artist Michael Joo. A conceptual artist who works across a variety of media; themes of energy, nature, technology, history and perception occur throughout his practice as he examines narratives of places, people and objects. Joo’s non-linear, almost cyclical approach and combination of study and research results in work that is often a documentation of process. Whether chemically treated, silver-coated or photo-based, there are several recurring methodologies and materials that Joo uses to continue his ongoing meditations on transformation, perspectives, and environments.
