Overview

Blain|Southern is proud to present Bernar Venet’s first major solo exhibition in London since his 1975 solo presentation at the ICA. The exhibition will survey an important period of the artist’s career, presenting his seminal early works from the 1960’s until the early ‘80s. The French conceptual artist rose to prominence in the late Sixties through the avant-garde art scene in New York. He moved to the city in 1966 and was instrumental in developing the new radical propositions of conceptual art, alongside artists such as On Kawara, Lawrence Weiner, Joseph Kosuth, Art & Language and Robert Barry.
