Jennifer Tee

25 Sep-13 Nov 2010

Eastside Projects
Birmingham B9 4AR

Overview

Eastside Projects has commissioned Jennifer Tee (b. Arnhem, NL, 1973. Lives and works in Amsterdam) to produce the first solo exhibition of her work in the UK. Tee will construct a sculptural setting with allusions to a number of ideologically transformative inner structures, sanctums and theosophical spaces - ostensibly visible but not directly tangible. Tee will be altering the space of the gallery to accommodate the works that lie, stand and hang, reconsidering the materials of the walls and floor of the gallery. A new artist’s book, designed in collaboration with designers Richard Niessen and James Langdon, will be published during the exhibition, structured as a series of independent printed sections, able to be dispersed, reordered, read and presented in different ways.
