QUAD Gallery will be turned into an ambitious purpose built film set and the exhibition offers a chance to be part of ‘Derby Soap Opera’ which aims to create one of the world's largest mass participation film projects, being written, filmed and performed by the people of Derby. Derby Soap Opera invites everyone in Derby to take part; to become the actors, singers and dancers, to contribute to the script, the soundtrack, become the co-directors, costume designers, make-up artists or lighting technicians for this ambitious film project directed by the internationally renowned Italian artist and filmmaker Marinella Senatore.The script is about the people of Derby and the life of the city itself. The exhibition launches with a ‘Project takeover at QUAD’, a day of mass involvement to contribute to Derby Soap Opera on Saturday 12th May, from 12:00pm until 9:00pm.
