Overview

QUAD and FORMAT present the work of five graduates from the University of Derby’s 2013 BA (Hons) Photography course. These new graduates are the recipients of the FORMAT Graduate Award, given to those who demonstrate outstanding work. The exhibition features a range of eclectic works and ideas, including Amy Lilley’s beautifully contemplative projection piece Sky Song, and Daniella Sramkova’s striking performative installation Corporal Punishment – as well as Gregory Wass’ series The Restructuring of British Rail, documenting British Rail sites across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. Leah Danielle Sharpe presents a poignant film of her grandfathers final days surrounded by his family in Before the Lord Called, with Cali Teasel’s images further exploring the family in The Chronicle Portrait.
