Whisper Residency : Daksha Patel

Overview

Daksha Patel is a Manchester based artist whose work examines the relationship between subjective and medical models of the human body. After a residency at The Christie Hospital, Manchester in 2010, Daksha’s recent work has been preoccupied with the notions of mapping, networks and systems that exist both within and beyond the body. For this whisper residency, Daksha will be collaborating with a local acupuncturist to explore the interconnections between her own experiences of this traditional holistic therapy with how she can respond visually as an artist. Using both the experience itself and through ongoing dialogue with the therapist, Daksha will be creating a new series of responsive drawings to showcase at her open studio.
