Rehana Zaman : SOME WOMEN, OTHER WOMEN AND ALL THE BITTERMEN
12 Nov 2014-9 Jan 2015

Bittermen, a fictional beer-soaked soap opera about brewery workers during a corporate takeover, collides with material generated through workshops with migrant workers to reflect upon the social and political ramifications of what it means to be a worker today. Zaman presents a new multi-channel video emerging from her twelve-month A New Reality production residency, including interviews with ex-Tetley brewery employees and filmmaking workshops with Justice for Domestic Workers (Leeds), the self-help group for female migrant domestic workers based in the city.
