Overview

We invited Craig Atkinson of Café Royal Books to look through the photographs in the Tetley Brewery Archive. His selection shown in the Bar & Kitchen documents the boom era of the brewery in the 1960s, when it had merged with other breweries including Ind Coope of Burton upon Trent and Ansells of Birmingham, to form Allied Breweries, then the world's largest brewing conglomerate. As Café Royal Books the artist Craig Atkinson has produced over 300 publications to date, reproducing photographs that document social change in Britain. Many of these publications can be seen in the exhibition Picture Book, and the new publication The Tetley Archive reproducing these images is available in the shop.
