In the installations of Echeverri Fernandez, found or discarded objects from popular culture are often combined to examine the interaction between their suspended presence and the environment they're placed within. Through a process of perpetual representation there unfolds a specific narrative or relationship between the objects, which often embraces a certain nostalgic appearance. The attention of the artist is often driven by 'fragments of things', which through a given context, demonstrate desperate and paradoxically loose relations. The elusive nature of these relationships allows the defining process to be constantly reinterpreted and renewed.
