James Clarkson : Abstracts for a Cascade Garden

6 Oct-23 Oct 2012

London E2 6PU

Overview

Abstracts for a Cascade Garden is an exhibition of works by Sheffield based artist James Clarkson. Drawing upon the working relationship of Victor Passmore and Poole Ceramics for his mural at The Festival of Britain Southbank site, Clarkson will present a series of tiled ceramic works. These works will look to build on ideas of how Passmore working as a public artist helped to shape his work from painting into sculpture, whilst also investigating wider ideas of the influence that British art in the 1950’s had on the designs and concepts of Poole Ceramics.
